For the first time in the Maritimes, Pascal Grolaux, DO, BSc, MOst. will offer the original, evidence-based and most comprehensive  course, so far proposed in Canada and in Europe, on the Integrative Approach Targeting the Vagus Nerve and the Neuroendocrine-immune System (NEIS).

Important Note

  • Part 3 will be onsite 4 days practice only and is divided into two possibilities (2 days each): 1. Applied osteopathic treatment (only for Osteopathic manual practitioner, last yer students of Osteopathy); 2. Non-invasive vagus nerve (tVNS) and trigeminal nerve stimulation (tTMS) (for Osteopathic manual practitioner, last year students of Osteopathy and other Health Professionals).

Note that only Osteopathic manual practitioner and last year students of Osteopathy can enroll to the 4 days practice (OMT and tVNS-tTMS)!

OBJECTIVES

The Part 3 "Bioelectronic Neuromodulation Targeting the Vagus and Trigeminal nerves, and the Neuroendocrine-immune System " (onsite-practice only) (only for those who have followed the Part 1 and Part 2), will introduce to non-invasive neuromodulation of the vagus nerve (nVNS or tVNS) and the trigeminal nerve (nTNS or tTNS). We will see how proper neuromodulation of these nerves affects the heart rate variability (HRV) analysis as a biomarker of the sympatho-vagal balance and more globally affects the psychophysiology and the general physiology.

At the end of the course "“Integrative Approach Targeting the Vagus Nerve and the Neuroendocrine-immune System (NEIS). Part 3 ”Bioelectronic Neuromodulation Targeting the Vagus and Trigeminal nerves, and the Neuroendocrine-immune System ", the participant will:

  • Understand the principles of neuromodulation and biolectronic medicine
  • Understand the how to neuro-modulate the vagus and the trigemnial nerve
  • Understand the indications and contra-indications of stimulating thses nerves
  • Understand the different parameters and stite of stimulation and their neuroendocrine-immune effects
  • Understand different possible neuromodulation treatment protocols and assessment/follow-up protocols
  • Be able to practice HRV analysis on short-term EKG-based and demonstrate the effects of vagal and trigeminal neuromodulation on HRV
  • Be able to demonstrate their skills in HRV analysis
  • Be able to offer a patient an evidence-based treatment plan and assessment plan (based on HRV analysis)
