His thesis "Work Recovery in Response to Osteopathic Treatment after Hemilaminectomy for lumbar Disc Herniation: A Prospective Study with Comparison Group", builted according to the doctoral thesis plan in medicine, was submitted to the CHUV, Lausanne, (neurosurgery department) in 1995.
His clinical professional and teaching experience for more than 26 years in classical osteopathy has gradually led him to the neurosciences, specifically in relation to neuroimmunology, the vagus nerve and heart rate variability analysis.
He practices integrative osteopathy in Nova Scotia and is also a speaker, national and international teacher (Canada, Europe) and independent researcher. He is involved in several conferences and congresses in Europe.
In 2020, he received a honour doctorate membership from the American College of Physical Medicine.
He is faculty member of the ASO, osteopathic school, in Poland, and recently joined the Ontario Academy of Progressive Osteopathy as a part-time lecturer.
His research interests are in the field of neuroscience and osteopathy. He published in the Journal of Neurology & Neuromedicine in 2019 and is in the Journal of American Academy of Osteopathy (2021).

Mario Luis González, DP, MSc (Ost), Eur Ost DO
Vice-Principal of the Institute. Teacher.
Mario previously studied physiotherapy in Belgium (1988) where he worked until 2000 in private practice.
His physiotherapy thesis investigates the effect of the use of bicycle and cycle-ergometer in rehabilitation, acquiring a broad knowledge of the biomechanics and physiology of pedalling.
This led him to learn manual therapy and analytical mobilisation.
For 12 years he collaborated with various services of traumatology and orthopaedic surgery and traumatology in Brussels.
He developed a great experience in the field of post-surgical and post-traumatic rehabilitation of the knee, hip and spine. He broadened his knowledge in biomechanics and joint physiology.
In 1988 he started his training in osteopathy in Belgium with the team of Raymond Richard, Gil Lavigne, Ludovic Dewez and .....
He specialised in various manual therapy and advanced physiotherapy approaches such as Sohier's analytical techniques, fasciatherapy, diacutaneous fibrolysis techniques according to Heckman, De Dejarnette and Gonstaed's chiropractic methods and Godelieve Denys Struyf and Leopold Busquet's articular and myofascial chains.
In 1992 he decided to explore the state of osteopathic training in Spain and enrolled at the School of Osteopathy in Madrid, where he completed his second training in osteopathy in June 1997, presenting his OD work on the sacro-iliac mobility assessment tests.
In 1998 he began his teaching career in the field of Osteopathy in Spain and subsequently in various University Masters and Official Masters in Osteopathy as in the Catholic University San Antonio de Murcia, University of Alcalá de Henares, CEU San Pablo de Elche, Official Master of Biomechanics and injury assessment of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
Since 2003 he is a member of the Spanish Osteopaths Registry ROE and member of the Madrid Physiotherapy College no.: 2449.
His passion for osteopathy and biomechanics allowed him to participate as a speaker at the 1st Congress of Osteopathy in Spain with a paper on the kinematics of the knee.
For several years he directed the Official University Master's Degree in Osteopathy and Manual Therapy at the European University of Madrid from 2004-2006, as well as collaborating as a lecturer at the same institution.
In 2004 he collaborates in the elaboration of the academic programme and brings together a European teaching group for the Scuola di OsteopatÃa Italian- Regione Lombardia in Milan - Italy.
In 2009 in collaboration with Jesús Requena he created the Formación Belga Española de OsteopatÃa (FBEO) (Full Member OsEAN) and later the European Osteopathic and Research Academy (EORA), a group of continuing education in Osteopathy in Spain.
In 2016 he obtained his Master of Science Degree in Osteopathy and Manual Therapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences Official Master in Osteopathy and Manual Therapy
at the University of Murcia (SP) presenting his work on the physiology of the knee and its implication in knee dysfunctions. The Q-angle and its relationship with femorotibial joint dysfunctions and knee pain.
His clinical experience of more than 34 years as a clinical researcher has led him to adapt and accumulate various models of treatment of the musculoskeletal system, posture, disc pathology and myofascial system in accordance with osteopathic philosophy and supported by research and neuroscience.
His passion for biomechanics and joint kinematics combined with his interest in physiology and neurology lead him to teach therapeutic models with gentle techniques, thus adapting a structural concept within a globalist clinical dynamic in the purest osteopathic style.
Currently he combines clinical practice with teaching activities in Spain, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Serbia, France, Poland.

Eric Sanderson, BSc (Hons), Dip Ost, MSc
Teacher.
Eric had more than 20 years of experience in dissection, starting with an undergraduate degree
at the University of Toronto, and most recently as part of his MSc in Anatomical Sciences at Queens University, 2020.
He has two osteopathic diplomas (Canadian College of Osteopathy, 2005 and Académie Sutherland d’Ostéopathie du Québec, 2007).
Eric have been teaching in osteopathic institutions for over 15 years. This includes teaching in person, as well as live online, and recorded lectures on anatomy and physiology.
His personal studies have centered on anatomy, anatomical dissection, physiology, as well as a significant exploration in neurology.
Eric have extensive experience in critical thinking and lecture construction. One of his major personal clinical pursuits has been the exploration of the interaction between the nervous system and the
connective tissue as a way of addressing complex clinical syndromes. His studies in neurology
have included not only neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, but also osteopathic approaches to
addressing disease processes using neuroreflexogenic techniques.
Eric is committed to transmit his enthusiasm for the subjects of anatomy, physiology and neurology to students and assist them in gaining an appreciation for the material. He is also keenly interested in assisting his students with the development of critical thinking. He further believes that demonstrating how
anatomy, physiology and neurology are intertwined makes the study of those subjects more relevant and clinically accessible for students.
